UAE’s The National reports that Edelman is planning to launch in at least five markets across the Middle East and Africa by 2014. Richard Edelman, president and CEO of the firm, told the outlet that the existing Abu Dhabi office will serve as a hub with possible office additions in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, or Kuwait.
“Is it a one-year strategy, is it a three-year strategy, do we need local partners? It’s hard to say. But that we will do it, you can bet on it,” Edelman said.
The Abu Dhabi office has 38 employees and recently won the Blackberry business from H&K, the story says. Billings are $4.8 million in the UAE. The firm also has an office in Dubai. Edelman said business in the UAE is “now the size of our India business.” He’s also predicting growth in the digital area.
