Music Publicists: A Party You Should've CrashedMetal heads and hippies united last night at the Zenbu Media holiday party, held at ADC Gallery in New York. The company's media properties, which include Relix magazine, Global Rhythm magazine, Metal Edge magazine, Metal Maniacs magazine and Jambands.com were represented well, with both leather jackets and patchwork finding their way into the large art space. PRNewser spoke with new Relix EIC Josh Baron about upcoming issues, when he was "pitched" by a Village Voice staffer on a column about "him deciding whether he likes music or not." "Not a great pitch for a magazine of music lovers," Josh informed him. Seen about the crowd were Rolling Stone, NY Times and Relix music critic Anthony DeCurtis, who sent his love to mediabistro, Ween bassist Dave Dreiwitz, Phish lyricist Tom Marshall, Arrested Development star Alia Shawkat, film producer and former Wetlands owner Pete Shapiro, Zenbu Media president Steve Bernstein and group publisher Aeve Baldwin and a who's who of industry insiders, including the people behind the Bonnaroo and Vegoose music festivals. Music was provided by DJ Quarter-Roy a.ka. Patrick Jordan, who is part of the Red Light Management team which handles Dave Matthews Band and Trey Anastasio, among many others. Email This Post |
