Free Turkey Burgers from Jennie-O

If you’re in the Los Angeles area looking for a free lunch, Jennie-O is serving up free turkey burgers today from 11am to 3pm PST. The effort is part of the “Make the Switch” campaign encouraging burger lovers to choose the turkey version next time they order.

The pop-up giveaway will be happening in El Monte and the goal is to serve 5,000 burgers. Customer reactions will be filmed to air with a national ad campaign launching September 20.

According to the press release about the event, 31 percent of 1,061 adults who took an online survey last week said the burger is the American icon they can’t live without. But 40 percent would choose to make it healthier. The release says that Jennie-O Turkey Store burgers have less fat and calories than the typical beef burger.
