GM Takes IPO on the Road, Will Drop the Goodwrench Brand

General Motors IPO is planned for November 17 and company executives have taken their show on the road to sell potential investors. Their pitch emphasizes how the company has repositioned itself and cut costs. Business Insider has the slideshow presentation here.

In other GM news, the company has decided to do away with it’s Goodwrench brand in the U.S. According to Jalopnik, the maintenance service will be replaced with “Chevrolet Certified Service,” “Cadillac Certified Service,” “Buick Certified Service,” and “GMC Certified Service.”

A source quoted in the post says this is another “effort to clear out brand clutter.”
