Howard Wolfson: We Would Have Won Iowa and the Nomination

Former Hillary Clinton campaign Communications Director Howard Wolfson delivered some sour grapes to ABCNews.com today:

“I believe we would have won Iowa, and Clinton today would therefore have been the nominee,”

“Our voters and Edwards’ voters were the same people,” Wolfson said the Clinton polls showed. “They were older, pro-union. Not all, but maybe two-thirds of them would have been for us and we would have barely beaten Obama.”

We wonder first why he didn’t give the quote to Fox, his new employer for one, and for two, what this means for the convention if you read between the lines. Both Clintons are showcase speakers at the Democratic Convention coming up in Denver, and rumors of a floor vote for Hillary persist.
