New Leadership at Cohn & Wolfe’s LA Office, and GCI Health Division

A week after announcing the promotion of Patricia Godefroy to Chief Branding Officer, Cohn & Wolfe hired Kazumi Mechling to fill her position as head of the Los Angeles office.

Mechling joins the WPP-owned shop (Nasdaq: WPPGY) from Waggener-Edstrom where she was EVP and consumer marketing practice leader. She will report directly to CEO Donna Imperato. C&W’s L.A. office serves big brand accounts including Walmart, Taco Bell, Mattel, Ubisoft, Pioneer, and Blu-Ray.

Mechling is a veteran of a number of big agencies, including Edelman Japan where she worked for a few years after her Tokyo-based firm MediaWorks was acquired in 1995.

In other news, Wendy Lund will be CEO of Cohn & Wolfe’s GCI Health division, effective next Monday. She was EVP Global Business & Client Development at MS&L. Lund brings deep pharma, medical device, and awarness and prevention advocacy experience to GCI. Prior to MS&L, she was VP of Marketing at Planned Parenthood.
