Here’s a gig that will let you put your passion for news to work. NBC is looking for a director of communications for its news division, overseeing publicity for Dateline and Peacock Productions, as well as its executives, anchors and correspondents.
In this role, you’l create comprehensive media and public relations plans for NBC News initiatives, while managing the public face of the division. You’ll be expected to maintain relationships with key contacts in the press, and oversee communications through new media outlets. Let’s put it this way: technology should be your best friend.
To land this position, you’ll need at least five years of experience in a fast-paced television publicity, media or political environment. Your Rolodex should be bursting with contacts, particularly of the new media variety, and you should be a natural problem solver. Of course, an interest in and eye for news is most wanted.
