As our sibling blog TVNewser notes, “If you’ve worked in a newsroom, you know as soon as you utter the words, “it’s a slow news day” something happens.”
Such was the case yesterday, when a JetBlue flight attendant walked off the job in dramatic fashion: opening up the emergency exit on a plane, grabbing a beer, running to a train, then to his car, and then driving home.
The dramatic exit, resulting from a fight between the flight attendant and a passenger, was covered everywhere. Will “pulling a JetBlue” now become part of our cultural lexicon? The company issued the following statement.
“At this time, we are working with the FAA and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to investigate the incident. At no time was the security or safety of our customers or crew members at risk.”
