President Obama, Campaign Staff Taking Over His Social Media Accounts

President Obama‘s 2012 presidential campaign staff, Obama for America, is taking over the tweeting from @BarackObama, which has 8.6 million followers and had mostly been handled previously by the DNC.

Obama for America will also manage the President’s Facebook page.

It looks like there will be more tweets from this account, and those tweets written by the President himself will be signed “-BO.”

“This change will give us new opportunities to make the most of these channels, using them not only to report what the President is doing every day but to connect to the millions of supporters who will be driving this campaign,” it says on BarackObama.com.
