PRWeek EIC: “Goal of the Blog Tournament Was to Have a Little Friendly Competition”

We reported earlier on PRWeek’s blog competition. (And almost shed a tear that PRNewser wasn’t included.) Now, we have official word from PRWeek editor-in-chief Keith O’Brien, who tells us:

“The goal of the blog tournament was to have a little friendly competition and – as Ed Moed pointed out – introduce some old and new blogs to our readership. “My Creative Team” reported new traffic from our competition page, which is great. Our goal was to highlight blogs written from the perspective of people in the industry – we didn’t really include blogs that were covering the industry from a more news-related perspective.

With only 32 participants, we obviously had to exclude a number of great blogs. But we hope all enjoy the spirit of the tournament – and have a little fun with it.”

In the meantime, stay tuned for a feature interview with Mr. O’Brien to appear on mediabistro.com later this week.
