Roll Call: Julie Hamp Heads to Toyota

Julie Hamp (pictured) has been named Toyota’s chief comms officer for North America, starting June 25. She’ll be coordinating comms efforts between Toyota Motor North America, Toyota Motor Sales, and Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America. Hamp was previously the global CCO and SVP of consumer relations at PepsiCo. She resigned, effective March 2. Prior to that, Hamp worked with GM, holding global positions for that company.

Rosemary Mercedes has been promoted to VP of corporate communications at Univision, managing the New York-based comms team. She has 12 years of experience and joined the network in 2006.

Cindy Hoots has joined Cone Communications as account director for the firm’s corporate responsibility team. Hoots previously working on the CSR efforts at Starbucks, spending a decade with that company. She was most recently the editor of Inspired Economist and working as a freelancer.

Jamar Hudson has joined the PR News Group as senior editor. He was previously associate editor of ESPNNewYork.com managing the day-to-day operations of the New York local site.

Gary Ware has been appointed director of digital experience at i.d.e.a. leading SEO, SEM, and interactive design and development. He was previously the director of paid media services at Covario, a search agency.
