Kevin Chaffee has joined Qorvis Communications as senior advisor. He was previously with Washington Life and will continue to serve as an editorial consultant for the magazine. Prior to that, he spent 17 years as a reporter and editor at Washington Times. [via FishbowlDC]
Padilla Speer Beardsley has appointed Curtis Smith as director of business development and marketing for the firm. He’s also in charge of internal comms, raising awareness of the firm across media. Previously, he was director of business development for both Carmichael Lynch (advertising) and Carmichael Lynch Spong (PR).
Dow Jones & Company has added two to the Corporate Markets group, which focuses on products and services for PR and corporate communications pros. Andrew Eberle is now U.S. regional sales director. Previously he was EVP of information services for IPG’s Constituency Management Group, which houses PR firms like Weber Shandwick and GolinHarris. And Lusine Kodagolian has joined as a media consultant from the Secretary of Defense where she was a senior consultant of public affairs research and analysis office.
Chris Clark has been promoted to director of PR of the Sacramento Kings and Maloof Sports & Entertainment. (Adrienne Maloof-Nassif is also a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills.)He’ll oversee PR and serve as the company’s spokesperson. He’s been with the organization for a decade.
Royal Caribbean has named Louise James head of Royal Caribbean PR for the U.K. and Ireland. According to the Royal Caribbean blog, the company is increasing investment in travel and tourism marcomms.
