Havas Reports 7.3 Percent Organic Growth, a Three-Year Best

France’s Havas Group reported €387 million ($548.1 million by today’s conversion rate) in revenue for Q3, up from €368 million for the same period in 2010.  Organic growth was 7.3 percent and net new business was €351 million (about $497.2 million). The FT noted a drop in France, which was impacted by issues in healthcare and events.

Havas firms include Euro RSCG Worldwide and Abernathy MacGregor Group.

“For the first nine months of the year, all our regions grew led by Latin America and Asia with strong growth in North America,” said CEO David Jones in a statement. In Jones’ statement, he also called the organic growth figure “our best organic growth performance in three years.”

For the first nine months of the year, revenue was about €1.1 billion (about $1.55 billion) with organic growth of 6.1 percent.

New business wins included seven Unilever brands around the world and Bristol Meyers Squibb. For more info about Havas earnings, click here.

Havas Reports 5.6 Percent Organic Growth for the First Half of 2011

Havas reported €765 million (about $1.1 billion according to today’s conversion rate) in revenue for the first half of 2011, a five percent increase over 2010. Organic growth for the first half was 5.6 percent, showing a marked improvement from 2009 (organic growth was -9.2 percent) and 2010 (organic growth was 1.8 percent).

Euro RSCG Worldwide and Abernathy MacGregor Group are two of Havas’ businesses.

Net income for the company was also up 6.9 percent (to €53 million or about $76.5 million) with income from operations margin up 12.4 percent (to €95 million or nearly $137.1 million).

‘Holmes Report’ Announces Award Winners

In advance of the North American SABRE awards dinner, taking place on May 10 in New York City, The Holmes Report has announced some of the agency winners for 2011.

Burson-Marsteller was selected as s U.S. large agency of the year, MWW Group was selected for mid-sized agency, and Coyne PR got the small agency distinction. K-global, founded in January 2010, was selected for new agency of the year.

Among the specialist agencies named are Kaplow for consumer agency of the year, WCG for digital agency, Abernathy MacGregor Group for financial agency, and GCI Health for healthcare agency. The complete list of those winners is available here.

Abernathy Tops Mergermarket Ranking

Brunswick is working with AT&T on the T-Mobile USA deal, but Abernathy MacGregor tops the mergermarket ranking for deal value.

Abernathy MacGregor Group leads the pack for value of international deals in Q1 2011 according to the latest mergermarket League Tables. The firm worked on 16 deals worth $73.3 billion, putting it ahead of Brunswick Group, which came in at number two with 41 deals valued at $67.9 billion, and Sard Verbinnen, which handled 21 deals valued at about $64.4 billion. According to mergermarket, this is the first time since the rankings began in 2001 that Abernathy has topped the list.

And, The New York Times Dealbook blog notes that Brunswick is advising on the biggest deal of the quarter, AT&T’s purchase of T-Mobile USA. (Brunswick is working with AT&T while Kekst & Co is working with T-Mobile.)

Havas Reports Net New Business Up 46 Percent in 2010

Havas announced its 2010 earnings yesterday, reporting a 46 percent increase in net new business over 2009, bringing the total to  €1.9 billion (about $2.64 billion, based on today’s conversion rates). Among the wins were Revlon PR business for Euro RSCG Corporate Communications Middle East and the redesign of FNAC‘s global brand identity by BETC Design. Havas PR firms include Euro RSCG Worldwide PR and Abernathy MacGregor Group.

The company singled out accomplishments in the digital space, with digital accounting for 19 percent of the group’s revenue and key digital wins including Heineken in the U.S. and Unilever, which appointed Euro RSCG 4D as its global digital agency.
