The Late Night Talk Show Wars Just Got Racy

arsenio-hall-show

Yeah. He just got busy.

Just when you thought we were all past this crap. Just when you thought 2014 meant something. Just when you thought we could all just get along. And now, we have Arsenio Hall calling out The New York Times and NBC’s grand poobah Brian Williams

And you know what else? Arsenio is right.

ICYMI: What had happened was both sources were waxing nostalgic about Jay Leno’s empty seat that was just given to Jimmy Fallon. While I dig “The Roots” and Jimmy Fallon (more them than him), there’s a slew of other talk show hosts out there — Letterman, Conan, Kimmel, Ferguson, Jon Stewart, Colbert. Sure there’s more, but there’s also Arsenio.

Breaking: Publicists Can’t Jump to the Front of the ‘Cronut’ Line

This is the most important news you’ll read all day. Actress, Julia Roberts niece and accused boyfriend beater Emma Roberts didn’t feel like standing in a ridiculously long line to get one of those mythical “cronuts” at Manhattan’s Dominique Ansel Bakery, so she (allegedly) dragged her publicist to the door and tried the “don’t you know who I am” trick.

Anyone who went to kindergarten knows that no one gets to bully his or her way to the front of any line, especially when a doorman waits at the end. Before you ask: yes, the bakery has a doorman—and yes, he told an “embarrassed” Roberts to go to the back of the queue, where she smiled for paparazzi and signed autographs before leaving due to boredom, or something like that.

Later she appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where she claimed that she hadn’t even realized there was a line. The host took a break from laughing at his own jokes to graciously grant her access to the deep-fried goodness she not-so-desperately wanted.

Note to publicists: this is why they hate us.

@SamuelLJackson Is Live and Filled With Cuss Words

Oh Samuel L. Jackson. We just can’t quit you.

Mr. L. Jackson made an appearance last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and used the occasion (and his iPad) to announce that he was joining Twitter. He promptly went online and typed a tweet that had to be pixelated to cover up a couple of F bombs.

Only eight tweets in and half would also have to be censored to appear on TV. (Click on the weblink in his bio and it takes you to a Web page in progress.) But, as he says, he’s “feelin’ da love.” He’s already got nearly 80,000 followers.

Catching a live Lauryn Hill performance, let alone one on TV, is like seeing Halley’s comet – rare and fabulous! Ziggy Marley performs tonight.
