Being the publicist of an idiot celebrity is nothing more than a logo and cash grab. Where’s the fulfillment in constantly being pressured to cover someone’s tracks because he or she can’t cover his or her mouth?

Take this fool, Drake.

Reports have come out via Billboard that Drake and ID-PR have parted ways because of the now infamous (and all-too-classy-response) Rolling Stone cover story that was to feature the doltish “singer/rapper” but instead this Philip Seymour Hoffman had to go take heroin and die. Hoffman gets the cover. Drake thought he was snubbed.

Drake ‘Disgusted’ at Rolling Stone, Which Dropped His Cover Shot for Philip Seymour Hoffman

Last Friday Rolling Stone told Drake and his media team that it would pull his planned cover for one featuring the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. The corresponding interview/profile, posted today after a teaser, also included some negative comments Drake made about friend and collaborator Kanye West‘s most recent album—quotes he apparently meant to be off the record.

For some reason, however, the rapper didn’t get pissed about it until this morning.

When a Page Six headline calls you “appalling”, it may be time to think about what you’ve done.

Unfortunately, fashion PR is to blame for the most classless response to Philip Seymour Hoffman‘s death; not one but two big-name brands used the actor’s recent New York wake as an chance to promote their own products.

We hoped Gawker‘s “Fashion Label Uses Wake As PR Opp” headline was just more clickbait, but a “celebrity relations manager” at Valentino did indeed spam journalists with pictures of Amy Adams carrying one of the brand’s bags to Hoffman’s ceremony last week in Manhattan (along with an official promo for the bag).

Only one thing is certain: Woody Allen has had a rough few weeks.

As we begin to recover from our shock over the tragic death of Philip Seymour Hoffman, we can expect to hear a lot more about the other story that rocked the entertainment world last week: the newly resurfaced allegations that Allen abused partner Mia Farrow‘s adopted daughter more than 20 years ago—when she was only 7 years old.

Dylan Farrow’s open letter, published by The New York TimesNicholas Kristof, went into graphic detail about the allegations, which first surfaced during Allen’s very public separation from Farrow. As Kristof himself reported, the public’s response was mixed:

Scientology Plans PR Campaign to Combat ‘The Master’

Director Paul Thomas Anderson has always insisted that his highly anticipated new film “The Master”, which stars Philip Seymour Hoffman as a low-rent sci-fi author and war veteran who decides to go whole hog and invent his own bizarre religion, has nothing to do with the Church of Scientology. Yet most people seem to think that’s exactly what it’s about for some reason!

We all know that the church doesn’t take too kindly to criticism, and we guess the film counts as a critique, because the church’s representatives have now apparently intensified their anti-“Master” PR campaign in anticipation of the movie’s Friday opening.

Despite all this noise, Anderson has never publicly criticized the church, and he has even indicated that the experience of making and promoting his latest opus actually led him to become more sympathetic toward Scientology in general. On a recent stop in Venice he said: “I don’t know a hell of a lot about Scientology today but I know about the beginnings of that movement and it inspired me to use it as a backdrop for these characters. I can’t be any more unambiguous than that.”

OK, so Anderson admits that the character of charismatic cult leader Lancaster Dodd is indeed “partly based on” church founder/ “Dianetics” author/ heavenly body L. Ron Hubbard. Most importantly, the public will always know “The Master” as “that Scientology movie,” so of course the church feels the need to respond.
