Social media has not only transformed the way we interact, but it has also affected how we eat. More precisely, what and how we eat. A new study called “Clicks & Cravings: The Impact of Social Technology on Food Culture” shows people turn to online recommendations for recipes and ideas more often than calling mom.

We all have that Facebook friend who loves to show off what he or she just cooked. Last night, mine was someone with photos of his pulled chipotle molasses chicken. The study shows this has become a common way to find out about new dishes and try recipes.

Lisa Rosenberg

Marian Salzman, previously the president of Euro RSCG Worldwide PR, has been promoted to a new position, CEO of PR operations in North America. In this role, she will also manage the CSR work at the firm and build Euro RSCG Life in the U.K. Replacing Salzman is Lisa Rosenberg who was previously director of Porter Novelli’s global brand marketing practice and MD of the New York office. She’s also author of the Mommy Lens blog.

Stig Albinus has joined APCO Worldwide as head of the New York healthcare practice. He has a career spanning 30 years, previously spending 16 of them with Burson-Marsteller, holding a variety of executive positions including chair of the U.S. healthcare practice. He was also partner and director of integrated client solutions at Porter Novelli.

Melissa Musiker has also joined APCO as a VP in the Washington D.C. office. In this role, she will work with food and healthcare clients and in the food and consumer products practice. Musiker is the former director of the Grocery Manufacturers Association, an organization serving the consumer packaged goods industry, and a practicing dietician. She has also worked as an economist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service.
