Top 10 Worst Video Gaming Stunts

In March we blogged that the makers of the Resident Evil had some problems locating the severed limbs they scattered around London in effort to promote the video game’s release. Now Gamespot UK has awarded the stunt as their top “Disastvertising” campaign.

The competition was brass-knuckled and rigor-mortis stiff. No really. Sony invited members of the press to reach in to the body cavity of a goat to retrieve some edible offal (you may Wikipedia the term, we won’t). And EA mailed brass knuckles to anyone interested in effort to get the word out about Godfather II.

I’ve theorized that the U.K. invented, or at least mastered the publicity stunt. Maybe, maybe not but here I am writing about it. It’s all in good fun till someone loses an eye, a driver’s license (Acclaim’s speeding stunt) or contracts E-coli.
