Vocus to Double Office Space with New Headquarters
Vocus Inc. (NASDAQ: VOCS) finalized plans to move in to massive new space ten miles from their current headquarters in Lanham, MD, a Washington DC suburb.
The move to the Ammendale Business Park in Beltsville, MD will provide 93,000 square feet of space, double that of the old location. The build is expected to cost between $7 million and $8 million to build out and should be done by next February. The lease is for twelve years.
The PR software company takes their work-live-play space philosophy even further. The current space has a basketball court, gyms, and a lounge with pool and ping-pong table. The new space will have all that and more, and is modeled on a small town “new urbanization” theme seen in the design of the vacation town, Seaside, FL.
More details on the deal and the regional economics can be found in the Washington Post.
