Senior Computer Graphics Engineer - Synthetic Data

Description

Help take your knowledge of rendering and shading and translate the results into innovative novel algorithms used by Apple customers around the world in products ranging from Vision Pro to iPhone and iPad. Create and define the workflows and data generation techniques used by Synthetic Data Engineers and Machine Learning Engineers as they help shape the growing field. We are looking for candidates with a passion for generating high quality synthetic images, by whatever means their expertise provides. The role will focus on taking advantage of the latest advances in rendering technologies to generate robust synthetic data used to train a wide range of Machine Learning algorithms.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
  • Experience with Shader Languages and writing custom shaders
  • Production experience focused on large scale content generation in films, VFX, games or similar fields.
  • Knowledge of modern renderers and rendering techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Computer Science and/or equivalent industry experience
  • 10+ year of industry experience contributing to rendering and or shading engineering technologies
  • Strong experience in 3D graphics including rendering, lighting and shading
  • Experience with both realtime game engines and offline rendering solutions
  • Familiarity with various 3D graphics algorithms, and data-structures
  • Experience working with OpenUSD
  • Experience working with generative ML models
  • Ability to work with with artists and engineers to assess technical requirements and designs
  • Knowledge of 3D DCC applications and content pipelines a plus

Compensation and Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
