Title: Program Manager, Studio Operations
Role Overview:
At PlayStation, we're leading in gaming by pushing the boundaries of what's possible! We seek a Production Manager to support one of PlayStation Studios’ production support teams. This role is ideal for someone eager to make a difference, collaborate with creative teams, thrive in ambiguity, and play a critical role in building a sustainable live operations business within PlayStation.
This role supports PlayStation’s ambitions in the live service space by providing expertise, challenging the status quo, aligning the organization, developing player-centric tools and capabilities, and sharing best practices across the company. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting and shadowing development teams to understand their challenges and needs.
- Documenting and centralizing project information for internal reporting.
- Partnering with other central teams to align and support production efforts.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in our Live Services practice.
- Participating in problem-solving and critical mandates as needed.
- Advocating for players, development teams, partners, and the company.
- Acting as an internal consultant to provide value where needed.
- Documenting and standardizing best practices.
- Identifying similarities between challenges to drive process and policy changes.
- Supporting organizational change for better Live Services agility.
The role is expected to evolve over the next 3-5 years as part of PlayStation’s evolution. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to changing needs and grow with the role and organization. The scope and responsibilities will be regularly evaluated to support Sony Interactive Entertainment’s production and Live Services initiatives.
What we're looking for:
- Experience in the gaming industry, preferably in a platform environment.
- Experience operating in live gaming ecosystems and projects.
- A background at the intersection of entertainment, technology, data, and analytics, ideally with live operations experience.
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to quickly understand projects to bring value and solve problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective dissemination of complex information.
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and customer-focused, willing to deliver results.
- Experience working on gaming platforms and delivering complex cross-functional technical projects involving multiple organizations (Data, Legal, IT, Security, Engineering).
- Experience operationalizing abstract or undefined processes.
- Ability to handle urgent problems during emergencies.
- Experience collaborating with or within Product and PMO organizations.
- Flexibility to manage shifting priorities and manage ambiguity.
- Ability to develop alternative plans within organizational constraints.
- Experience coaching and motivating teams.
- Strong relationship-building skills to positively influence culture and operations, confident, energetic, and positive attitude.
- Proactive in anticipating issues and problem-solving solutions.
