Position Details

  1. Position Title: Communication Arts Part-Time Lecturer - Film (Academic Year 2025-2026)

  3. Position Summary: The Department of Communication Arts invites part-time faculty candidates for Lecturer in Film within the School of Media & Design. Position will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in film. Faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Duties include teaching and professional activities as assigned.
  4. This applicant pool will remain open for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.
  5. Benefits: This position is not benefits eligible.
  6. Essential Functions:
  • Prepare course outlines and teach Film based on departmental syllabi; deliver interactive lectures.
  • Prepare and administer assessments.
  • Collaborate with faculty to meet curriculum outcomes.
  • Be available outside of class to support students (1 hour per 3-hour class, physically and/or electronically).
  • Follow UIW Faculty Handbook policies, including record keeping, fair evaluation, and timely feedback.
  • Maintain respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Participate in department meetings as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  1. Qualifications:
  • Ability to deliver instruction online and effectively use instructional technology.
  • Flexibility to teach day, evening, and weekend sections.
  • Ability to incorporate technology into teaching.
  • Effective collaboration with diverse communities.
  • Adherence to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
  1. Required Education: Bachelor’s of Fine Arts or Bachelor’s Degree in Film or closely related field.
  2. Work Experience: One (1) year experience in the film industry.
  1. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Significant professional and/or college teaching experience.
  • Master of Fine Arts Degree in Film.
  1. Certifications: None specified.
  2. Work Hours: Based on course assignment.
  3. Physical Demands: Typical for faculty in this discipline.
