Description
The authorized level of the position is Work Program Specialist V. Applications are being accepted down to the Work Program Specialist IV in the event of recruiting difficulties.
Salary Range:
All new external applicants will be placed on the initial step of the salary range. However, placement above the initial step of the salary range will be based on special characteristics and critical needs of the position, an applicant's exceptional qualifications, the availability of funds, and other relevant factors. Such appointments require prior approval. Hawaii State Department of Education employees will be placed on the salary range in accordance with Department regulations.

Examples of Duties
1. Coordinating with Departmental personnel to plan for the printing of instructional and informational materials.
2. Implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality to ensure the final product meets Staff Member's specifications, quality standards and budgetary goals.
3. Streamlining workflow from design to final print.
4. Making the proper choices to enhance speed, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
5. Providing cost estimates for different printing formats and quantities to determine the best plan for producing instructional and informational materials.
6. Recommending in-house and/or commercial printing based on time, cost, size of project and capabilities of printing equipment.
7. Planning, coordinating, and directing work unit activities.
8. Monitoring production to ensure timeliness and print quality.
9. Evaluating the work performance of subordinates and addresses deficiencies.
10. Maintaining records of all printing expenditures.
11. Ensuring that all projects are properly funded and resolves issues with the offices as required.
12. Assisting in the annual development and budgeting of long and short-range program plans.
