Software Engineer – Ads Identity and Audiences Netflix is a leading global entertainment service with over 283 million paid memberships in over 190 countries. In November 2022, they launched a new ad-supported tier to provide more choice for members and create opportunities for advertisers. Job Description: Software Engineer – Ads Identity and Audiences The Netflix Ads Identity and Audiences team is responsible for creating relevant and engaging advertising experiences while prioritizing user privacy. Their mission is to precisely identify subscribers to ensure ads are both engaging and respectful of privacy choices and regulations. They maintain a high-quality Identity Graph for various purposes, including privacy compliance, audience onboarding, targeting, measurement, and reporting. As a Software Engineer on this team, you will play a key role in building a leading Identity solution for Netflix’s core ads systems. Your work will ensure ads are engaging, privacy-respecting, and compliant with regulations. Specifically, you will: Build and maintain a high-quality Identity Graph. Develop solutions for privacy management, segmentation, measurement, and reporting within the advertising system. Handle extremely large volumes of data using big data tools like Spark. Construct high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems. Collaborate with a team of professionals focused on technology and privacy. Contribute to cutting-edge identity solutions that shape the future of advertising at Netflix. Required Skills & Experience: Professional experience building Identity Graph and Identity resolution systems for online advertising (including privacy management, segmentation, measurement, and reporting). Expertise in graph algorithms and graph data modeling. Proven experience handling large-volume data with big data tools like Spark, and building high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems. Broad knowledge of ad tech, the advertising landscape, programmatic advertising, and digital marketing trends. Experience developing cloud-based applications and proficiency in modern programming languages (object-oriented preferred). Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Preferred Skills & Experience: Experience with Data Clean Rooms (e.g., Snowflake, Habu, Infosum). Familiarity with legal compliance and the evolving landscape of advertising regulations globally. Experience in the CTV space and understanding of its unique constraints. The compensation structure is solely salary-based (no bonuses), with the option to choose the salary-to-stock-options ratio annually. The salary range is $100,000 – $720,000.
