CNC Programmer and Tool Designer

This position involves writing and optimizing CNC programs for various turning and milling machines, including multi-axis lathes, using G-code and CAM software. Responsibilities include developing programming approaches, establishing setup and operation procedures, recommending design changes for optimized CNC machining, and establishing work rates based on standard data or time studies. Develop CNC programs based on processes outlined by manufacturing engineers. Assist in process development with operators and manufacturing engineers. Read and interpret GD&T requirements on engineering drawings. Identify opportunities for program optimization in current machine programs. Maintain knowledge of cutting tool geometries, coatings, and applications. Utilize databases to create tool lists, part routings, and update programs. Create and compile documentation to aid machine setup. Create tooling and fixturing prints in CAD. Specify and procure necessary tooling and fixturing. Design, modify, and fabricate custom tooling and fixturing. Collaborate with tool manufacturers to improve cost, tool life, and throughput. Requirements Candidate Requirements Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with others and be a team player. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as geometry and trigonometry, and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. Education & Experience Associate's degree in Programming is a plus; High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 5 years’ experience in programming and machining. CAD experience required; CAM experience is a plus. Seniority level
