Job Details
What you will be doing:
- Analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
- Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
- Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
- Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
- Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
- Develop technical documentation.
- Develop system architecture and system design documentation.
- Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
- Interact with the Government regarding System Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
- Maintain ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables in the System Engineering area.
- Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Required Skills:
- Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems compatible with the defined system architecture(s) (e.g., DoDAF, SOA).
- Contribute to the development of system engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Requirement Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
- Assist with developing system requirements, functional requirements, and their allocation to hardware, software, facilities, and personnel.
- Coordinate resolution of action items from CCB meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-discipline coordination.
- Participate in an IPT to design new capabilities based on development and operational considerations.
- Allocate real-time process and error budgets to system components.
- Generate alternative system concepts, architectures, and design solutions.
- Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for system verification against requirements.
- Develop system design solutions fulfilling system requirements and functional analysis.
- Review and provide input on program work breakdown structures, work packages, and the master plan.
- Participate in interface definition, design, and configuration changes throughout the system lifecycle.
- Derive from system requirements an understanding of stakeholder needs and essential functions.
- Derive detailed, verifiable lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements.
- Participate in establishing and gaining approval for system or component definitions, including requirements, designs, interfaces, and test procedures.
- Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services and Security Mechanisms (e.g., cryptography, access control, hashing).
