General Summary:

Directs a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life. Functions as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, quality, test, marketing, and distribution as the product(s) and/or product line(s) move through their lifecycle. Formulates and executes long-term roadmaps for cost/profit control. Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends. Directs those involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of the product or product line.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collection and Prioritization of Product Requirements, Feature Requests and Software Products to ensure key customer milestones are met in an optimized and efficient manner.
  2. Generation of the business case associated with any proposed software product.
  3. Working with core multimedia technology management, automotive chipset product management, business development, eco-system management, engineering, program management, customer support and marketing teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of customer SW releases and Proof of Concept & Demo products for internal and external use.
  4. Working with the Legal, Contracts, Engineering and business support teams to ensure that the necessary in-sourcing and out-bound licensing and SOW agreements and processes are in place to efficiently work with partners, customers and suppliers - including collection and generation of comprehensive documentation of 3rd Party, Proprietary and Open Source Intellectual Property.

This position is office based located in San Diego, CA.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
  • 5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Product Management or related work experience.
  • 2+ years negotiating 3rd party business agreements.
  • 3+ years working in a large matrixed organization.
  • Experience with display and graphics technologies used in automotive in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems.
  • Experience working with Program management and development teams in defining and introducing new product technologies.
  • Direct Experience with one or more 3D graphics/gaming engines and/or frameworks such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Kanzi and Qt.
  • Extensive Knowledge of display and graphics technologies used in automotive in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems.
  • Direct experience in automotive software product development or management.
  • Experience with embedded software development, including Agile Embedded software methodologies and processes.
  • Experience managing SW development teams (directly or matrixed).
  • Comfortable making technical and business presentations to a wide range of audiences, including to senior management.
  • Ability to independently drive activities/project with internal and external cross-functional teams.
  • Effective written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated team player who possesses outstanding analytical skills.
  • Global market experience.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$179,200.00 - $268,800.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
