Overview
We are seeking a flexible and service-oriented Assistant Librarian to join our evolving library team during a time of transition. This role will serve as a critical support function as we navigate staffing changes and long-term structural shifts in our library services. The ideal candidate will be someone with prior library experience, a great customer service mindset, and the ability to work harmoniously within a team of unique and great personalities.
About the Team Structure: Our current structure includes a Librarian, an Assistant Librarian, and a team of workers. We have recently moved away from the circulation manager model and are adjusting our workflows accordingly. While the Librarian oversees advanced professional responsibilities, the Assistant Librarian will focus more on daily operations and front-line service to patrons. We are currently supported by an intern as a stopgap measure but are seeking a more stable solution.
salary: $20 - $22 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 7 AM - 4 PM
education: Bachelors

Pay offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. In addition, Randstad offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, an incentive and recognition program, and 401K contribution (all benefits are based on eligibility).

Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service at the front desk and throughout the library
- Support the Librarian in day-to-day operations and user services
- Assist in supervising and training workers as needed
- Help manage circulation, shelving, and basic cataloging tasks
- Contribute to library projects, particularly during the ongoing transition
- Be adaptable to evolving roles and responsibilities as the team structure shifts
