Role Overview
The Telecom & Audio-Visual Technician I is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and ongoing operations of diverse Telephony and Audio Visual applications, physical devices, mobile communication services, and the associated technical infrastructure connectivity at all WPCU facilities. This role also acts as the backup for the Telephony System Administrator and interacts with all business units, assisting with various technical support needs for the WPCU Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and upgrade all WPCU audio/visual equipment (e.g., Televisions, Codigo PC’s, Projectors, etc.) and associated applications. (50%)
- Serve as the first-level backup support to the Telephony System Administrator for general maintenance of various applications. (25%)
- Ensure accurate data entry into the IT Asset Inventory system for repairs and replacements to Telephony and Audio Visual products and devices. (10%)
- Provide day-to-day hardware and software support for Telephony and Audio Visual systems across all WPCU facilities. (10%)
- Offer personalized support to the Board of Directors and WPCU Executive Management for telephony-related needs, including iPads, iPhones, teleconferencing, and ad hoc requests. (5%)
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical or Associate degree with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent formal training and experience in Telephony/Audio Visual Technology.
- InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of video conferencing applications, protocols, and standards.
- Support experience with mid-sized or larger telephone systems and audio visual systems.
- Proven written communication skills, including preparing technical specifications.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot efficiently, and manage system vulnerabilities.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
- Ability to pass background checks for WPAFB or DoD to acquire a Contractor badge.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
