Associate Editorial Producer, Central Booking (Dallas or Nashville)
View more categories | View less categories | Sector: Media and Publishing | Role: Associate | Contract Type: Permanent | Hours: Full Time The Central Booking team is seeking a competitive Associate Editorial Producer to book guests for coverage across the news division, including CBS Mornings, CBS Evening News, 24/7 Streaming, and more. Key Responsibilities
Pitch and pursue character-driven stories and breaking news interviews, both in the field and from home, developing relationships with publicists, attorneys, companies, and news figures. Travel into the field for major breaking news, conduct interviews, and work on various beats including breaking news, weather, features, politics, international, and medical news. Schedule
Sunday to Thursday, 3pm to midnight Required Qualifications
At least 2 years of producing experience in a professional newsroom Valid driver's license Willingness to travel and work occasional overnight and weekend shifts Willing to be based in Dallas or Nashville Preferred Qualifications
Degree or equivalent in broadcast journalism or related field Experience with breaking news Understanding of broadcast news gathering process Experience supporting news teams with judgment and leadership Ability to manage relationships with contributors and outlets Research skills, including familiarity with databases like LexisNexis Outstanding writing and communication skills, especially on sensitive topics Ability to prioritize multiple stories with different deadlines Preferred Characteristics
Knowledge of CBS News programming and what makes a good booking Self-starter monitoring stories for developments Sound, unbiased news judgment and persistence Effective internal and external communication skills Thrives in fast-paced, time-critical situations Comfortable making phone calls CBS News and Stations combines CBS News, 28 owned stations, streaming networks, and digital platforms, delivering top news programs like 60 Minutes, CBS Mornings, and others.
