Job Description
Responsible for continuous video monitoring to enhance patient safety for high-risk patients. Must work cooperatively and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families. Demonstrates understanding of monitoring processes and equipment. Completion of the iObserver competency assessment is required.
- Redirects impulsive and harmful behavior.
- Maintains ongoing surveillance and notifies staff of changes or assistance needs.
- Manages monitoring equipment during admission, transfer, or discharge.
- Troubleshoots monitors with nursing staff and contacts technical support as needed.
- Maintains surveillance of multiple patients unless instructed otherwise.
- Calls for assistance if unable to redirect a patient or if there is a risk of self-injury.
- Participates in shift reports, communicating pertinent information to nursing staff.
- Engages with patients through conversation to keep them focused.
- Adheres to confidentiality policies regarding patient and staff information.
- Develops cooperative relationships with healthcare providers and responds to their requests.
Work is performed in a clinical environment. Employees must meet all job obligations and organizational policies. Additional department-specific skills may be required.
Unit: Continuous Video Monitoring Unit
Schedule: 7p-7:30a, including every other weekend and holiday.
No experience required. Comprehensive on-the-job training provided.
