Position Overview
Research Partnerships, a unit within the University Libraries at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, seeks an Evidence Synthesis Sciences Librarian to enhance its support for evidence synthesis and research data management. The librarian will collaborate with existing faculty and data curators to support advanced review processes, particularly in the sciences, and assist in research data review and curation.

The librarian will join during a period of strategic growth and organizational transformation aimed at building a more equitable, accessible, and sustainable information ecosystem. The role involves engaging in inclusive practices, supporting diverse research areas, and contributing to professional scholarship.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and contribute to evidence synthesis and reviews through consultation, education, and collaboration.
- Design and implement evidence synthesis efforts, identify research trends, and map scholarly networks.
- Assist in reviewing and curating datasets and code for UNL’s research data repository.
- Support expansion into new research areas such as open science and research impact.
- Partner with sciences librarians to provide advanced reference services and develop expertise in sciences.
- Engage in antiracist initiatives to promote inclusive excellence.
- Contribute to the profession through research, publication, and engagement.
- Participate in service activities at the library, university, and professional levels.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent, or a terminal degree in another discipline with relevant experience.
- Experience with methods, tools, and data sources relevant to evidence synthesis research.
- Knowledge of research lifecycle, methods, and study designs in sciences.
- Interest and capacity to grow in scientific information resources.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in sciences (preferred).
- Experience in teaching, presentations, and working with diverse audiences.
- Experience with systematic review search strategies and reporting standards.
- Knowledge of research data management and digital preservation.
- Understanding of the role of research libraries in academic settings.
- Awareness of algorithmic bias and accessibility issues.
Salary starts at $62,500. The position is faculty status at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure/tenure-leading). The role is full-time, with a focus on education and research in a higher education context.
