Position Summary:
The Web Developer will work on a high-energy cross-functional team responsible for ensuring the client interface of our web applications functions properly and smoothly. This role will interface with business and IT scrum teams, providing guidance, technical knowledge, and best practices to support the development of the Ascensus Umbraco Cloud digital ecosystem of public websites, with a primary focus on retirement growth initiatives. The role will ensure that the platform, along with all components and the overall application, is responsive, robust, and easy to maintain by applying current best practices in user interface development. The Web Developer will coordinate with marketing and IT teams to work on different infrastructure layers. Key expectations include a commitment to understanding and staying up-to-date on Umbraco Cloud and related technologies such as Umbraco Engage and Umbraco Forms, collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and curiosity about new digital technologies that combine usability with visual appeal. Job Functions, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities: Develop, customize, and maintain web applications using Umbraco CMS, creating responsive websites per design guidelines and information architecture, optimizing applications, and integrating with the business layer for performance and scalability. Collaborate with designers to ensure UI/UX designs are accurately translated into web visuals. Implement robust features by writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code. Address issues related to the Umbraco backend and platform, ensuring compatibility with plugins. Support front-end or CMS-related issues, troubleshoot, and resolve back-end technical problems. Create estimates, assist with planning resources and tasks, and track team progress throughout the software development lifecycle. Participate in architectural discussions to ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs, influence decisions, and collaborate to maintain consistency across reusable code and UI pattern libraries for use across multiple projects.
