Overview
We are seeking Technical Writers to join our high-performing team in developing technical documentation for advanced military systems, including radars for F-22, F-35, Joint Strike Fighter, F-16, B-1B, MESA, G/ATOR, VADER, and other UAV systems.
Responsibilities:
- Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents such as manuals, operational specifications, and technical publications to communicate complex information clearly.
- Oversee the preparation of illustrative materials, including drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.
- Conduct quality reviews of materials.
- Publish materials in various formats, including electronic, structured (HTML, XML, SGML), and page-based formats.
- Collaborate with engineers, task leads, writers, and instructors to develop and deliver sensor/system technical manuals.
- Perform desktop publishing for reports, whitepapers, and articles.
- Research and compile information from program documents and engineering sources, adhering to military/civilian standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or related field, or military experience with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks, and sensors/systems.
- At least 2 years of experience with structured authoring tools like MadCap, FrameMaker, or Arbortext.
- Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Must possess and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of technical writing experience.
- Knowledge of content management strategies and standards such as XML, SGML, HTML, S1000, DITA.
- Possession of and ability to maintain DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
