ADJUNCT FACULTY PART-TIME
MEDIA COMMUNICATION

Successful candidates will have experience teaching courses to a college-level audience, and be able to effectively demonstrate their commitment to developing critical thinking and learning strategies in these disciplines. General Responsibilities
- Providing instruction during scheduled class time
- Holding office hours for student conferences and other instructional support needs
- Prepping course materials, evaluative student work/performance, logging student participation (i.e. attendance), etc.
- Participating in various dept. and or college-wide activities or committees
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.
- Prepare and deliver lectures to students on topics on current and relevant experience in television, radio, video, audio, and digital media editing, creation, production, dissemination
- Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers. See more occupations related to this task.
- Prepare course materials, such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts. See more occupations related to this task
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching, commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process and the ability to inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed
- Required to post your syllabi on Blackboard and to enter your final grades online in PeopleSoft.
- Bachelor’s required, portfolio review, and at least 5 years of current and relevant experience in television, radio, video, audio, and digital media editing, creation, production, dissemination.
- 1-3 years of college-level course instruction.
- You must demonstrate excellence in teaching, commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process and the ability to inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed.
- Familiarity with learning management platforms (i.e. Brightspace, D2L etc.)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Familiar with SMART Board Technology and other presentation aides
- Proficient in current version of AVID Pro Tools, Audacity, Adobe Audition, and Logic preferred. Ability to stay current with Industry trends.
