Overview
As a PCB Designer at Lockheed Martin, you will be part of an interdisciplinary engineering team responsible for designing, documenting, fabricating, assembling, testing, and integrating hardware. Your primary focus will be on Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly designs, ranging from simple 2-layer quick-turn boards to advanced space-qualified multi-layer rigid/flex backplanes with features like blind/buried/micro vias. Key Responsibilities: Utilize industry-leading PCB design tools such as Zuken CR-8000 or Siemens Xpedition. Use additional tools for signal integrity analysis, documentation control, inspection, and MS-Office applications. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to convert functional specifications into robust PCB designs. Ensure compliance with design and fabrication standards, including IPC 2221, 2222, 2223, IPC 6012, 6013, and IPC 600. Analyze x-ray, CT scan, and cross-sectional analysis results to identify and troubleshoot issues. Provide technical expertise and support for complex design and manufacturing challenges. Communicate design specifications and rationales effectively in both written and verbal formats.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in PCB design. Experience with flex, rigid flex, or RF designs is highly desirable. Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Mentor, Cadence, Altium, or Zuken is advantageous. Strong understanding of electronics standards and processes. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
