About the role Join a dynamic startup focused on advancing generative AI models in the field of speech and audio. As an Audio & Speech Applied Machine Learning Engineer, you will spearhead end-to-end machine learning pipelines—from research to real-world deployment. Work alongside a collaborative team in an onsite role based in San Francisco or New York City, pushing the boundaries of speech and audio processing with cutting-edge technology. Responsibilities Research and develop advanced machine learning models for speech and audio applications Translate the latest research findings into production-grade Python code Execute full machine learning pipelines, including proof of concept (PoC) and production deployment in cloud environments like AWS or GCP Build robust APIs and inference systems to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets Collaborate with operations teams to source and structure high-quality training data Design resilient cloud-based infrastructure for training, evaluation, and inference Drive the company’s machine learning roadmap, contributing to technical research and tooling investments Requirements Must be located within a 50-mile radius of San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY, or willing to relocate Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine learning, with at least 2 years specializing in DSP/audio machine learning Proven ability to deliver machine learning systems end-to-end, from research to production Proficient in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch Hands-on expertise with cloud environments like AWS or GCP for model training and production deployment Preferred skills Experience with training generative AI models Advanced degrees (Masters or PhD) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field Leadership experience driving technical directions for ML teams Knowledge of classical and ML-based audio signal processing systems Startup experience, particularly in zero-to-one product development Application process The first step is a short video call with Holly, our AI recruiter, who works closely with the hiring team on this role.
