Visitation School seeks a full-time (1.0) Middle & Upper School Art Teacher (grades 6-12) beginning August 2025.
Visitation is an independent Catholic day school with a culture permeated by Salesian Spirituality. We offer a unique combination of learning experiences with a coed Lower School (Montessori preschool through grade 5), an all-girls Middle School (grades 6-8), and an all-girls Upper School (grades 9-12). The ideal candidate for the Middle & Upper School Art role:
- Is a lifelong learner who is passionate about the educational experiences of middle and high school girls.
- Is current and competent in the theories and pedagogy of studio art instruction, focusing on a constructivist approach and skills-based assessment
- Enjoys collaborating with students and colleagues in and beyond the Studio Arts Department.
- Has the ability and energy to create an engaging and developmentally appropriate environment where students are known, loved, and challenged to be their best selves in and outside of the classroom.

Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Arts-related field with three to five years of teaching experience is required. The Studio Art Teacher must have experience as an Art Generalist who can teach a variety of mediums, such as drawing, painting, pottery and printmaking, as well as photography and digital media. A Master’s degree, prior teaching experience in an independent school, and knowledge of AP curricula are preferred.

Salary Range: $40,200 - $99,533 based on degree, teaching experience and the established salary schedule.
