Job Description
An opportunity for a fixed-term/temporary Robotic Camera Operator is available.
The fixed-term/temporary Robotic Camera Operator is responsible for supporting NJ Spotlight newscasts, remote productions/uplinks, and live/pre-tape productions via the utilization of robotic camera equipment and software.
Please note this is a fixed-term temporary role to provide on-call support.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Oversee live operation of multiple Panasonic and Sony robotic cameras across multiple locations and multiple studios;
- Work with technical and production staff to satisfy production needs for live, taped, and automated programming, under supervision of Technical Director, Reporters and Producers;
- Format preprogrammed video shots using video software;
- Coordinate camera look and shading for all cameras across multiple studios and locations;
- Manage studio lighting and board programming for all studio sets;
- Manage all moves, focusing, presets, and shot recalls;
- Operation of robotic cameras, as needed;
- Other relevant duties, as assigned.
Qualified candidates will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a team player who works well in a fast-paced, dynamic news environment. Other qualifications include:
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience in live, multi-camera studio production including experience with Panasonic or Sony robotics;
- Proficiency with Telemetrics robotic controls and software;
- Ability to work flexible hours.
