This is a full-time, onsite position based in the Los Angeles, CA area.
What will you do?
- Assist the Director of Service Excellence and Studio Architect with maintenance, installation, and modification of EMF broadcast studios, production environment, and media applications at all EMF studio facilities and remote sites.
- Help Studio Engineers with audio/video and network wiring, including wire pulling, connector termination, and testing.
- Fabricate audio, video, and control wiring according to EMF standards.
- Develop documentation for wiring and infrastructure systems.
- Install new broadcast and production studio equipment.
- Install computer KVM systems and VGA signal distribution.
- Support ISDN and VoIP interview/set-up sessions.
- Assist with streaming and presentation support in various rooms, responding quickly to department needs.
- Maintain and manage files for MAC OS X and DAW systems like Pro Tools.
- Support broadcast automation systems and software/hardware configurations.
- Help On-Air Talent troubleshoot microphones, line devices, and automation issues.
- Be on call for urgent broadcast facility issues.
- Provide desktop support as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What are we looking for?
- AA degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- At least 2 years of experience with broadcast studio technology.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of media production, audio/video systems, and asset delivery.
- Experience installing and maintaining broadcast studio equipment.
- Familiarity with industry software like Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, and others.
- Solid understanding of computer hardware, networking, and wiring.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, solder, and fabricate studio setups.
- Knowledge of Windows and Apple networking environments.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting 24/7 operations is a plus.
- Understanding of industry best practices and trends.
