SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly motivated and technically versatile Audio Visual / IT Specialist to support our New York City office. This primarily in-person position offers some flexibility for remote work but is intended to be on-site to support day-to-day AV and IT operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in conference room support and meeting coordination, while also serving as the on-site IT support liaison. The role requires both proactive and reactive troubleshooting skills, strong customer service, and the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and IT teams across the organization. Law firm experience is a plus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Audio Visual Support (Primary Focus):
- Coordinate, set up, and support video and audio-conferencing technologies for meetings, depositions, trainings, and firm-wide events.
- Recommend optimal meeting room setups based on specific needs including attendee count, remote participation, and technical requirements.
- Operate and troubleshoot Cisco Video Endpoints, Zoom Rooms, and general AV hardware (e.g., projectors, microphones, cameras, speakers, HDMI extenders, video switches, and control panels).
- Create and maintain in-room documentation and instructions for end users.
- Assist with the integration of AV systems with conferencing platforms and provide on-demand AV support for time-sensitive meetings.
- Coordinate AV support across the enterprise, including remote connection troubleshooting and interoffice collaboration.
- Support recording, basic video editing, and uploading of video content (e.g., CLEs, e-learning) to internal platforms.
Web Conferencing and Collaboration Technology:
- Administer and configure web conferencing platforms including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco Webex.
- Assist with the implementation of new platforms and features, including rollout planning, testing, and training.
- Develop user-friendly best practices and training documentation for hosting webinars, meetings, and hybrid events.
- Track usage metrics, troubleshoot license issues, and stay current with software updates, security patches, and emerging features.
IT Hardware Support:
- Serve as the primary on-site IT contact for the New York office, offering support for all IT hardware and software issues.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with Windows 11 laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, cameras, phones, keyboards, mice, and other peripherals.
- Responsible for installing new user workstation setups, including docking stations, phones, keyboards, mice, printers, monitors, and any other necessary equipment.
- Assist users with remote access, network connectivity, VPN issues, and mobile device configuration.
- Maintain and document an accurate inventory of IT and AV equipment, assist in asset lifecycle management, and coordinate warranty/service replacements as needed.
- Log and track all IT support tickets and resolutions using internal help desk systems.
Cross-Functional & Special Projects:
- Collaborate with the Audio-Visual Manager and Manager of Logistics and Hardware Support Services on office technology upgrades, moves, and AV implementation projects.
- Lead or support AV infrastructure setup for office reconfigurations or new installations.
- Provide backup and overflow support to other members of the AV/IT team as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This role involves regular physical activity including lifting, moving, and setting up IT and AV equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing 40 pounds or more.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and crouch for extended periods as required for equipment installation and troubleshooting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of hands-on AV/IT support experience, ideally in a professional services or legal environment.
- Demonstrated experience configuring and supporting Cisco video conferencing systems, Zoom Rooms, and Microsoft Teams.
- Strong technical knowledge of AV components (HDMI/USB-C interfaces, signal extenders, audio mixers, PTZ cameras, wall control panels, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft Office Suite, and enterprise collaboration tools.
- Proficient with troubleshooting and supporting hardware peripherals and networking components.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with senior staff and clients professionally and tactfully.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle confidential information appropriately.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required for meetings or events.
- Law firm experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), CompTIA A+, or similar certifications.
- Experience in video editing software (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe Premiere) for post-production and e-learning content.
- Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems (e.g., Freshdesk).
ANNUAL PAY RANGE: $90,000-$100,000
Please Note: The hourly and/or annual salary amount is based on a *good faith* compensation analysis in pursuant of New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL) listed under *Senate Bill 9457*. Final starting salary/wage is dependent on the candidate’s experience level, industry expertise, skills and other factors that are defined in the job description.
