This role supports BAE Systems' Electronic Systems Creative Video team by maintaining current video production hardware, software, and critical network infrastructure—storage and servers. The primary focus is on network and content delivery upgrades to enhance our team's capability for creating and distributing top-tier video content.
The successful candidate will understand complex LAN/WAN, video server, and virtual server environments. They will have a deep understanding of video content development in relation to industry trends and equipment needs for disciplines such as photo/video shooting, lighting, editing, and animation.
This role requires a self-motivated individual capable of creating operational efficiencies and building partnerships with IT support services across the enterprise. The candidate will ensure our creative teams have uninterrupted access to rendering nodes, storage, applications, and network infrastructure via VPN.
An ideal candidate will also possess a strong understanding of creative workflows and software pipelines, with familiarity in Adobe Creative Cloud, Unreal Engine, Autodesk Maya/3ds Max, and DaVinci Resolve. They will evaluate software synergies and recommend technical improvements to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
The candidate will foster relationships to enable timely content delivery for tradeshows, marketing, executive communications, product campaigns, and vendor support. They will also advise on hardware/software solutions, acquisition, and deployment to support the creative team.
This position involves a hybrid work format, combining onsite and remote work.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
BS/BA from an accredited college or technical school with a specialization in IT networking/network design. At least 5 years of relevant experience, including: Ensuring consistent network connectivity for on-site and remote team members. Minimizing LAN downtime through troubleshooting and ticket management. Collaborating with IT Business Partners on prioritizing and resolving issues. Maintaining and deploying software/hardware with current versions of critical tools like Adobe CC, Maxon, DaVinci Resolve. Managing storage and archives, including hardware maintenance and firmware updates, and scheduling project archiving onto digital and LTO tape libraries. Working with video-centric network platforms like Avid Nexus or similar. Administering and maintaining file sharing platforms for large file transfers. Recommending and maintaining relationships with outside vendors for video network buildouts and upgrades. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience in network engineering and/or video streaming server networks (e.g., Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Akamai) is preferred. Ability to research and recommend trending video equipment for networking and archiving. Assisting in qualifying capital video software and hardware purchases. Managing end-of-life hardware disposition. Maintaining archival media libraries (DVD, BetaSP, etc.). Flexibility to assist with quick-turn video shoots and editing tasks as needed. Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $99,410 - $168,997 Note: Salaries are determined by various factors including skills, experience, and market conditions. Benefits
