Position Details
- Location: 1014 N. El Camino Real Encinitas, CA 92024
- Position: Non-Exempt / hourly
- Pay Wage: Starting at $20 / hr
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain inspirational showroom displays according to design specifications, visual merchandising directives, and promotional calendar, under the guidance of Visual Merchandising Managers.
- Create special displays to promote specific offers or products.
- Draw/sketch designs to illustrate ideas and visions.
- Optimize store space and layout; update displays regularly.
- Ensure proper signage, stocking, and display maintenance.
- Maintain the showroom, sales counter, shelves, and stockroom for an engaging customer experience.
- Set up or change displays with support from store staff.
- Perform light furniture assembly and gather tools needed for displays.
- Stay updated on product range, features, and stock levels.
- Participate actively in meetings and training sessions.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Retail, interior design, or display experience preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and welcoming demeanor.
- Knowledge of current trends in home furnishings, fashion, and culture.
- Color and design concepts understanding.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to illustrate ideas through drawing and sketching.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; AutoCAD skills are a plus.
- Ability to use hand tools, ladders, and lift 30 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
Education
- Degree in Design or related field preferred, or high school diploma/GED or equivalent.
