Essential Function: This position delivers creative projects for Sally Beauty across print, digital, and social touchpoints. The Creative Director is responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the creative campaign team. This leadership role guides the design team, in partnership with the copy team, to ensure consistent brand representation. Additionally, the role is a key partner in shaping the brand voice to create clear and compelling customer messages across channels and executions. As part of the marketing leadership team, this role contributes to strategy, concept development, production, photo, video, content creation, budget management, channel marketing, content, customer experience decisions, and collaborates with merchandising and store operations to craft the brand experience.
Note: This role is hybrid (in-office 2 days/week).

The Creative Director plays a pivotal role in almost every project, connecting various aspects of a project while maintaining focus on the bottom line — guiding, owning, and nurturing projects to enhance the customer’s overall brand experience.
This includes development and delivery of Sally Beauty brand campaigns across all touchpoints for acquisition and retention, including over 3,000 retail locations, SallyBeauty.com, store design, loyalty programs, social media, email, direct mail, advertising, CRM, and other digital, print, and broadcast marketing materials.
Responsible for developing shoot strategies, pre-production, and executing brand photoshoots to bring campaigns to life. Collaborates with external creative partners and agencies, providing direction, reviewing work, and integrating external concepts with internal efforts.

Primary Duties:
Works with the SCD and cross-functional peers at strategic and operational levels, providing guidance and coaching to the team. Contributes to and manages concept development and execution of various campaign and communication materials across digital and environmental design. Continuously seeks to elevate standards by staying informed of customer trends and streamlining processes.
Oversees, evaluates, and improves the work of the internal creative team to ensure projects align with strategy, quality standards, and effectiveness. Mentors and fosters creative talent within the team.
Partners with Project Management, executive management, and cross-functional teams to ensure collaboration, clarity of goals, and timely delivery of projects.
Owns shoot strategy development, pre-production, and execution of brand photoshoots. Collaborates with external partners, providing direction, reviewing work, and integrating concepts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Communication, Advertising, or related field with a strong design portfolio.
10+ years of experience as a designer.
5+ years of experience leading and building effective teams.
Experience across mass, traditional, digital, social, and e-commerce channels.
Ability to develop effective campaigns within branding guidelines and objectives.
Strategic thinking and creative talent for generating innovative ideas.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaborative mindset.
Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, MAC OS; AutoCad experience preferred.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: The environment involves typical office risks and safety precautions. The work is primarily sedentary, involving sitting, with some walking, standing, bending, and light carrying. No special physical demands are required.
