$55.00/hr - $65.00/hr Sr. UX Designer
Our utilities client is looking for a Sr. UX Designer to join their dynamic in-house team. This is a 40-hour a week ongoing freelance role. The Sr. UX Designer is a hybrid position that will be onsite three times a week at the client's office located in Downtown Houston.

As a Senior UX Designer, you play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organization's digital products and services, driving innovation, and delivering exceptional user experiences that delight and engage users while achieving business objectives.
Senior UX Designer Level Responsibilities
Lead and shape the overall UX strategy and direction for projects. Provide strategic direction and leadership in UX design, aligning design initiatives with business goals and user needs. Collaborate with executives, product managers, and other stakeholders to define project objectives and priorities. Champion user-centered design principles throughout the organization. Mentor and coach junior designers, fostering a culture of empathy and curiosity within the design team. Tackle complex design challenges and find innovative solutions. Leverage deep understanding of user research, interaction design, and information architecture. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of UX design efforts throughout the product development lifecycle. Lead the development and maintenance of design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency and scalability across products and platforms. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies. Seek opportunities for innovation and improvement to drive product innovation. Effectively communicate design concepts, rationale, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Senior UX Designer Requirements
Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or other related field. 5+ years equivalent professional experience. Portfolio showcasing problem-solving abilities. Proven experience in strategic direction and leadership in UX design, aligning design initiatives with business goals and user needs. Ability to leverage your deep understanding of user research, interaction design, and information architecture to create intuitive and compelling user experiences across multiple platforms and devices. Leadership/mentorship experience.
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
