We are seeking a Senior Analyst to cover the Telecommunications, Media, and Technology sector, based in New York, Chicago, or Toronto. The role emphasizes qualitative analysis, requiring intellectual curiosity, analytical complexity, and excellent communication skills. The position offers opportunities to develop into a thought leader with responsibilities increasing over time, including a market-facing role. Key Responsibilities
Perform quantitative financial analysis, including forecasting, comparable analysis, and bankruptcy evaluation. Conduct qualitative analysis on business models, management strategies, industry, and regulatory factors. Support credit rating recommendations through research and financial modeling. Monitor and assess a portfolio of companies, presenting findings to credit committees. Maintain Fitch’s financial databases. Engage with industry executives to deepen understanding of their businesses. Contribute to research publications and Fitch’s Leveraged Finance initiatives. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred. CFA candidacy preferred; CFA/CPA a plus. At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in technology, media, telecom, or business services sectors. Proficiency in English (verbal and written). Experience in capital markets or credit analysis is advantageous. Strong skills in Excel and Word, with excellent analytical and organizational abilities. Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Preferred Attributes
Knowledge of the TMT industries, including hardware, software, and advertising sectors. Background in financial or strategic analysis with solid financial statement skills. For New York roles, expected base pay ranges from $100,000 to $110,000, with total compensation including bonuses and incentives. All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to protected characteristics.
