Job Description: We are looking for an Embedded QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in embedded systems testing and automation scripting, preferably in Python or similar . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in validating video and camera systems embedded within hardware platforms. This role is critical to ensuring the robustness, performance, and quality of embedded imaging and video capture technologies in real-time environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and tools tailored for embedded video and camera system validation. Execute functional, regression, and performance testing on embedded hardware platforms running video capture and processing firmware/software. Collaborate closely with embedded software, firmware, and hardware teams to verify camera system functionality and video tuning parameters at the device level. Analyze embedded system logs, debug failures, and troubleshoot hardware-software integration issues. Enhance and maintain embedded test frameworks, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for embedded firmware releases. Document test cases, generate detailed test reports, and maintain traceability of embedded system requirements. Required Skills:
3+ years of experience in QA Automation or SDET roles with a focus on embedded systems. Proficiency in scripting such as Python, Bash, or similar for automation in embedded environments. Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Robot Framework, or custom embedded test frameworks). Strong knowledge of video processing, image quality tuning, and camera system validation on embedded platforms. Hands-on experience working with embedded operating systems or RTOS, and familiarity with SoC-based architectures. Ability to interpret and analyze logs from embedded camera/video systems to evaluate performance and quality. Experience with on-device testing and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test setups is highly desirable. Qualifications:
Exposure to machine vision, computer vision, or image signal processing (ISP) pipelines embedded within firmware. Experience with video codecs, resolution scaling, latency measurements, and tuning tools in embedded contexts. Prior experience working with automotive embedded cameras, smartphones, security systems, or other video-enabled embedded devices. Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on embedded system challenges. Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional embedded software and hardware teams. Detail-oriented with a passion for quality and embedded system reliability.
