The Opportunity
CACI is searching for a Technical Writer to join a worldwide engineering, operations, and tech refresh contract supporting Enterprise IT (EIT) capabilities and functions for our Intelligence Community (IC) customer. As a team, we will be responsible for operations, future technologies, engineering and Tier 2/3 support, break/fix, and tech refresh activities to develop and maintain agency-wide capabilities on a global basis. Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating and writing various types of user documents, including how-to guides, references, manuals, cheat sheets, or instructions.
- Explain scientific and technical ideas in simple language.
- Work with customers to translate their functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Support the engineering team with documentation for system components and engineering artifacts.
- Provide overall leadership of the technical writing tasks and serve as primary liaison to the government for supporting contract coordination and task execution.
- Manage all technical documentation on the program, including documentation produced by professional technical writers under management.
- Write and edit technical documentation for hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and how-to guides.
- Create code documentation for software; produce implementation guides and end-user guides; provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation.
- Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents related to software and systems engineering, operations, testing, and user documentation.
- Distill complex information into clear, concise text.
- Apply writing and grammar skills to deliver accurate documentation under tight deadlines.
- Design and develop developer-oriented documentation and collaborate directly with developer teams.
- Use documentation tools to develop templates and create outputs in various mediums.
- Understand SDLC, IC ITE, RMF, and PWS terminology.
- Manage experienced professionals exercising independence in assignments.
- Demonstrate innovative influence within projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
- Proven ability to distill complex information into clear, concise text.
- Excellent writing and grammar skills, ability to work independently, and deliver accurate content under deadlines.
- Bachelor's Degree plus 7 years of experience (or equivalent), with at least five years in a technical or lead writing role.
- Experience designing and delivering developer-oriented documentation and working directly with development teams.
- Skilled in using multiple tools for templates and output styles.
- Thorough understanding of SDLC, IC ITE, RMF, and related terminology.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a polygraph.
