Volunteer Engagement Event Planner
Hybrid Volunteer Position
Dallas Pets Alive! is a highly respected animal rescue organization dedicated to eliminating the killing of companion animals in North Texas. We offer numerous opportunities for volunteers to contribute to our mission.
As a Volunteer Engagement Event Planner, you will design meaningful, inclusive, and high-quality experiences that strengthen our volunteer community. Your role will involve planning events that celebrate volunteers, foster trust and connection, and promote a culture of recognition and joy.
**Location:**
- Hybrid/Virtual, based in Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), mostly virtual; in-person as needed.
**Time Commitment:**
2-5 hours weekly, with some evening or weekend events. Must be available for in-person events.
**Compensation:**
This is a volunteer position. After one year, a professional letter of recommendation and LinkedIn recognition are provided.
**Responsibilities:**
- Plan and execute quarterly volunteer events (e.g., game nights, appreciation events, virtual hangouts).
- Coordinate with the People Team to align events with volunteer lifecycle goals.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Development teams for logistics and communication.
- Manage planning timelines and resources.
- Develop new event ideas to engage diverse volunteer groups.
- Handle post-event follow-up and feedback collection.
- Share responsibilities with co-planners based on availability and event type.
**Skills & Qualifications:**
- Experience in event planning or volunteer management.
- Creative, collaborative, and passionate about people.
- Open to feedback and different viewpoints.
- Ability to travel to events independently.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable leading virtual meetings and using Google Drive.
- At least 18 years old.
- Proficiency in Gmail and G-Suite.
