Job Title: Fire Protection CAD Designer / Drafter
Location: Allentown, PA area
Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 year

Tiello is partnered with a well-established Fire Alarm and Life Safety firm based in the Allentown, PA region, specializing in the design, installation, and service of fire suppression and fire alarm systems. With a legacy dating back to the early 1980s, the company serves a wide range of commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. Their expertise includes clean agent suppression systems, water mist technologies, CO2 and dry chemical systems, as well as advanced fire alarm and detection solutions. They are certified and factory-trained to represent leading manufacturers and ensure reliable, code-compliant fire protection solutions.
Role Summary:
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in drafting and will be responsible for producing detailed drawings and submittal packages used in engineered fire protection systems, including compliance with national and jurisdictional standards. Industry experience is preferred but not required.

Job Responsibilities:
- Independently review and validate information required for creating engineering drawings.
- Use CAD system to draft and edit technical fire protection designs.
- Prepare application drawings using NFPA standards and AHJ requirements.
- Maintain drawing files, reports, and service request documentation.
- Coordinate submittals to Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Finalize and submit close-out packages to customers and AHJs.
- Provide drawing sets to installation, sales, and commissioning teams.
- Create visual materials such as graphic maps, annunciators, and operation sequences.
- Apply knowledge of ANSI, NFPA, Factory Mutual, IRI, and other codes.
- Maintain and update technical data sheets for submittals.
- Utilize manufacturer-specific and product-specific software.
- Attend workshops and read technical literature to remain updated on industry practices.
- Maintain confidentiality of all engineering documents and related material.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of drafting experience (AutoCAD preferred).
- High School Diploma or GED with technical coursework in drafting and math required.
- Strong understanding of engineering terminology and drawing standards.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- Ability to work independently and accurately with technical data.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
