The Boeing Space & Launch Division's Evolved Strategic Satcom (ESS) program is looking for Full-Stack UI / UX Software Engineers (Experienced / Senior) in Colorado Springs, CO. The Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Division's ESS program is a critical component of the U.S. military's nuclear command, control, and communications (NC3) network that provides nuclear-survivable connectivity. As a member of the Boeing software team, you will be involved in the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization and development to the maintenance and support of the delivered system for our customers. Position Responsibilities :
- Building performance, secure, tested web applications with a focus on automation and security
- Designing, enhancing, and improving APIs between front-end and backend software services
- Leading the development of critical features, taking ownership of the entire development lifecycle from design to deployment
- Conducting thorough code reviews to maintain code quality, enforce best practices, and ensure code adheres to established standards
- Advocating for improvements to product quality, security, and performance that have a particular impact on your team and others.
- Supporting junior engineering talent with mentorship or technical guidance.
- Excellent communication skills, working with end-users to design and build solutions to their needs, a habit of self-directed learning of new technologies, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
This position is expected to be fully on site at Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :
- 3+ years of complex software design of user applications and back-end services
- 3+ years of experience with developing with front-end programming languages
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 5+ years of experience with designing and developing intuitive user interfaces featuring real-time, 2D / 3D geospatial visualization.
- 5+ years of experience with open-source software development experience.
- 5+ years of experience with fine tuning Kubernetes and the underlying host OS for optimal performance.
- Able to work with ambiguity and can self-direct your work while guiding others and supporting project leadership activities.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices, along with experience supporting Government security requirements for software delivery involving system accreditation.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) or similar tools.
